Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, is organising a series of public awareness and creative activities under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026, in accordance with government directions. The campaign aims to highlight public welfare initiatives and achievements associated with the Prime Minister’s long public service tenure and encourage citizens to participate in the collective vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
As part of the campaign, the University Cultural Centre staged a street play under the programme “Namo Seva—Unkahi Kahaniyan” on Sunday. Students from the University Cultural Centre and Cultural Club participated enthusiastically in the performance.
Through acting, dialogue and creative presentation, the students conveyed messages of public awareness and social responsibility. The street play highlighted the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and various efforts undertaken during the period, while also emphasising social participation and collective responsibility.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anil Kumar Rai said that street theatre is an effective medium for public awareness. He appreciated the students’ efforts to communicate public welfare initiatives through creative expression and said active youth participation connects students with the nation-building process.
He added that the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 was a collective national endeavour requiring the participation of every citizen. Students, he said, could play an important role in spreading positive social messages through their talent, energy and creativity.
Rai also appreciated the performance and said the university would continue promoting activities alongside academics that contribute to students’ personality development, social awareness and a spirit of nation-building.
Cultural Coordinator Dr Jyoti Pandey said that recorded plays and audio material had been provided by the government under the “Namo Seva—Unkahi Kahaniyan” programme. One of the scripts was selected and adapted into a street play, which presented various measures and initiatives undertaken by the Government of India during the COVID-19 pandemic in a creative and interactive format.
Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh, Cultural Coordinator Dr Jyoti Pandey, members and students of the University Cultural Centre and Cultural Club contributed to the organisation of the programme. Students and members including Lavi, Prashant, Raghav, Akshita, Anshika, Divyansh and Pragati took active part in the performance.
The activity was described as an initiative to strengthen social responsibility, creative expression and students’ participation in nation-building under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026.
